A VALE primary school recently received a visit from an Olympic hero.
On Monday, June 18 St Athan Primary School were lucky enough to receive a visit from Mica Moore, British Women’s Bobsleigher and Welsh Champion Sprinter.
Miss Moore, who is from Newport, helped to launch the school’s ‘Health and Wellbeing Week’.
Miss Moore, who has competed for Wales in the Commonwealth Games and was half of the amazingly successful two women Bobsleigh team in the Winter Olympics earlier this year, talked about her journey so far, the importance of having a dream and working hard to achieve your goals.
“It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Mica Moore to our school and she inspired our children at every age group,” said headteacher Louise Haynes.
