ART Central is celebrating their 10th anniversary with a new display of 3,000 digitised images at Barry Library, documenting the history of the Vale of Glamorgan and its people.

'Picture the Vale – Past Times' is being displayed in the Art Central Gallery in King's Square, containing an array of photographs collected from the library archives and from residents living in the Vale.

A team of volunteers helped catalogue the images, which will be part of a collection held at the National Library in Aberystwyth. The aim is to increase Wales’ digital footprint by converting the images online.

The gallery includes elephants bathing at Watchtower Bay, town centres in black and white and old school class photos.

A ‘memory wall’ has also been made, enabling people to share their own memories of living in the Vale.

The exhibition is open between 9.30am and 4.30pm and will run until Saturday, January 6.
