THE Cadoxton Brook flood scheme plans will go on display at Dinas Powys Community Library on Wednesday, November 8.

People living and working in Dinas Powys and Sully Moors are invited to a Natural Resources Wales (NRW) drop-in event to find out more about plans to reduce the risk of flooding in the area.

More than 300 properties have a one per cent chance of flooding in any given year from the Cadoxton Brook and East Brook.

NRW is now considering options to reduce the likelihood of flooding in the area following several properties being flooded in 2012.

The drop-in event will run from 2pm to 7.30pm and NRW will be present to give local people an overview of the current flood risk and to talk to them about the options being considered to reduce the risk.

NRW flood risk manager, Tim England said: “Keeping communities safe from flooding is an important aspect our work.

“We want people to come along to raise awareness of and learn about how flooding could affect them, and how we plan to reduce the risk.

“We will be there to answer any questions people may have and listen to their views on the different flood management options being investigated.

“The feedback we receive is important and will be considered as we continue to assess these options, weighing up the benefits and disadvantages of each, while considering the social, economic and environmental factors.

“Please drop by for a chat – we would value your comments.”
