A £10,000 timber trail was officially opened for play at Cadoxton primary school, by Wales international rugby union star Ryan Jones on Friday, September 29.
The Wooden Spoon children’s charity funded the play facility which has been built in the Barry school’s yard. The charity provides sensory rooms, specialist playgrounds and sports activity areas for children and young people.
Teacher Hannah Cogbill said: “The children and their parents have wanted the trail for so long but raising funds for the expensive adventure trail has been hard. Ryan Jones came to the exciting launch the new trail and also did a question and answer with our children. The children use the trail in recreational play time and it has meant that they are kept physically active and they can challenge their skills.
"The rugby charity has been so committed to supporting our cause and we would like share our gratitude.”
