AN ANNUAL walk raising funds for important research work in the battle to eradicate deaths from breast cancer will take place in Barry.
The Breast Cancer Now Cardiff & Vale Group will be walking to conquer breast cancer in Porthkerry Park, on Sunday, October 8.
The walk involves a 2km or 5km route through the park.
The 2km is mostly flat and runs from the education centre to the conker tree in the upper car park and back.
The 5km walk, starts from the education centre.
It passes the conker tree and winds through the woods to Nant Talwg Way and back and is a bit more challenging.
Refreshments, crafts and activities for the youngsters are at the end in the education centre
Registration begins at the education centre, near the café at 1.30pm.
Registration costs £5 for adults and £3 for school age children. Children under school age walk free.
Participants and supporters are encouraged to deck the tree with pink ribbons as they pass to demonstrate their support for all those affected by breast cancer.
Participants of all abilities and ages are welcome to attend the family event - together with walkers with dogs.
The walk starts at around 2pm and marshals will be on the routes to direct walkers.
