A COSTA Coffee Drive-thru will set up in Barry after Vale and town council planners gave it a thumbs up.
The national chain will build a new premises at the Waterfront Retail Park, Heil Ceiniog, Barry - adding to its Holton Road store.
Barry Town Council (BTC) originally opposed the development saying it would underline the “vitality and viability of Barry Town Centre.”
Councillors also expressed concern about the store’s proximity to houses which would “result in disturbance and the degrading of the amenity standards for local residents”.
The BTC report, put before planners, added that the existing car park has previously suffered from anti-social behaviour causing problems. The Vale council subsequently approved the plan.
