A BARRY fast food restaurant has undergone a transformation, introducing a table service and embracing technology by providing tablets.
McDonalds, on the Ty Verlon Industrial Estate, is aiming to improve customers’ experience with the changes.
Local franchisee David Balcombe said he hopes the digital innovation will provide customers with more choice as to how they order and pay.
Customers will be able to order from new digital kiosks and will now have the option of having their food delivered direct to their table.
The restaurant still offers the option of ordering at the till.
Mr Balcombe, who started his career 17 years ago and runs 10 restaurants across South Wales, including the Barry one said: “We’re thrilled with the transformation because we’re committed to offering our customers’ more choice and fast service.”
“Technology has a huge role to play in all walks of life, including our customers’ eating out experience, so the new technology we’ve introduced recognises the way people live their lives today.
"The addition of table service enables customers to order at the self-order kiosk and then sit down at a designated zone to get served. From mums coming in with their kids, to people having a working lunch, I expect the feedback to be positive.”
Free-to-use tablets have also been installed at some tables for customers who want to check their newsfeed and emails, or play games.
The restaurant redesign also includes new décor.
