THE DATE for a by-election to replace a shamed Vale councillor has been set.
Rob Curtis, who represented Gibbonsdown ward, resigned from his roles on the Vale of Glamorgan Council and Barry Town Council last month
The Adjudication Panel for Wales suspended Mr Curtis for three months after concluding he had breached the authorities' codes of conduct and brought both councils into dispute after he entered a guilty plea to common assault in May 2015.
Mr Curtis admitted touching the leg of a female while on a bird-watching trip in 2014.
The Gibbonsdown ward by-election for the Vale council has been triggered by at least two eligible voters requesting a poll.
It will take place on November 3 and the notice of election, for both county and community councils, will be published on September 29.
