A 30-STRONG Chinese contingent descended on Barry recently to experience British culture and Vale scenery as guests of talent academy, Superstars In The Making (SITM).

Christian Bullen's performance academy welcomed them all to learn drama while in the town.

15 children aged six to 16 along with 15 adults, including head teachers, high profile business owners and university lecturers got involved.

The children studied and trained with the SITM academy in Barry and worked with local children who also attended the training.

They also visited local families in Barry who kindly offered to cook them a British style dinner and show them a typical family home.

SITM principal Christian said: "Our Chinese guests have loved working with the local children in Barry and have had a great holiday exploring the beauty of the Vale. We aim to grow this project year on year to increase the tourism from China to the Vale, which is great news for local businesses."

Superstars in the Making opened in Barry in 2009 as a professional part-time training centre for talented young people.

It now operates globally, but still runs from its Barry headquarters.
