A BARRY-MUM-OF-ONE will set aside injury to make her third appearance in the Cardiff half marathon, next month, in tribute to tragic teenager Conner Marshall.

Victoria Gee, mum to four-year-old Eva-Mai , will pound the 13.2 miles in memory of the Barry 18-year-old who had been the victim of a “sustained attack”.

He had been found, court heard, with “appalling injuries”, at the Porthcawl campsite where he had been staying with friends.

The 2015 Lloyds Bank Cardiff half marathon will take place on Sunday, October 4.

Child care worker Victoria Gee, 33, of Goodwick Close, Barry, said: “I'm running the Cardiff half marathon this year for the third time. I'm running for the charity 2 wish upon a star in memory of Conner Marshall.

“I was on a night out and I met Ioan Thomas and his partner Sara Taylor.

He asked if I would run the Cardiff half marathon in memory of his friend’s son Conner Marshall.

“Conner was brutally murdered, in Porthcawl, in March 2015. This was a tragic and unprovoked attack.

“2 wish upon a star provide support for bereaved relatives to cope with the sudden loss of a child.”

She added: “I love running and being able to help and raise money for fantastic charities so I was more than happy to help.

“I always take part in the Race For Life and the Mo Run.

“I only have weeks to train and I have been injured but I can't wait to be running the half again.

“Thank you so much to everyone that has donated so far. It means so much to Conner’s family.”
