BARRY born author, Dean Anthony Gratton, has been awarded an honourary Doctor of Science degree for his contribution to the field of telecommunucations.
Dr Gratton, who grew up in Montgomery Road, Barry, is the author of the best-selling Bluetooth Profiles: The Definite Guide (Prentice Hall 2002), Marketing Wireless Products (Butterworth Heinemann 2004) and the recently launched Developing Practical Wireless Applications (Digital Press 2006).
His sisters, Teresa and Lisa, both said: "We are delighted and very proud of our brother's achievement - he continues to be an inspiration to us and our children".
Dr Gratton's work in the telecommunications field has been US patented and he was one of the orginal specifiers of Bluetooth wireless technology.
