A HORTICULTURAL charity project that helps people with learning difficulties is asking Waitrose shoppers for their green tokens this month.
Waitrose in Barry supports three local charities each month, splitting a £1000 pot between them based on who receives the most "green tokens".
These tokens are handed out at the checkout and can then be placed into one of the charity boxes on display. The more tokens received, the more money a charity receives.
Among the groups featured this month are the Fields Day Organic Horticultural project, a charity based at the Amelia Trust Farm that provides work experience and training running an organic market garden for people with learning difficulties.
A spokesman for the project said that any money received will be put towards running costs.
"This money will go a long way with us," he said.
