MARIE Curie is looking for volunteers to help during a special National St David’s Day Parade in Cardiff on March 1.

Marie Curie wants all volunteers to don yellow hats, collect coins and hand out daffodils to parade-goers on the day.

The St David’s Day drive is part of the charities annual Great Daffodil Appeal, the charity’s flagship fundraising campaign.

Funds raised will help aid the charity’s work supporting people living with a terminal illness, and their families, across Wales.

Last year’s Great Daffodil Appeal volunteers in Wales helped raise £308,000 to support 2,278 people affected by terminal illness.

The parade will feature colourful carnival dancers, youth groups dressed in Welsh traditional costume, Welsh folk musicians, a dancing dragon and the return of the famous ‘Giants of Wales’.

The parade starts at City Hall at 12.30pm before ending at Cardiff Castle at 1.15pm where there will be Welsh music and entertainment between 1.30pm and 4pm.
