Bridget Christie will be touring the UK in the Autumn with this year’s Edinburgh show An Ungrateful Woman, as well as her Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning show A Bic For Her.

Her 2013 show, the “feminist-themed” A Bic for Her, won the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award, the South Bank Sky Arts Award for Best Comedy, the Chortle Award for Best Show and became the top-selling comedy show ever at the Soho Theatre. Her also “feminist-themed” debut radio series, Bridget Christie Minds the Gap, won the Chortle Award for Best Radio, was nominated for Best Comedy at the Radio Academy Awards. It has also been nominated for a Rose d’Or Award (winner announced September 2014). This all happened when she decided to try and write some actual material, rather than arsing about in wigs, wearing fake hands, pretending to be an ant and eating celery and other crunchy foodstuffs on stage.

Her 2014 Edinburgh show, An Ungrateful Woman, sold out its entire run before it started and was described by Mark Lawson (who’s been around for ages and knows about things like art and theatre and things) in The Guardian as being “astonishingly complex and uproariously funny.”

The touring show will be an edited 40-minute version of A Bic for Her with all the jokes taken out, followed by an interval, then the full 60 minutes of An Ungrateful Woman. The Soho Theatre run from November is An Ungrateful Woman.

Bridget is currently writing her book A Book For Her (Random House) and series two of her BBC Radio 4 series Bridget Christie Minds The Gap will record in November.

Catch Bridget at Abergavenny Borough Theatre on October 9.
