BARRY Town Council has this year introduced a scheme where every school in Barry receives funding to purchase books for the school library, the only stipulation being that the monies are not used to purchase textbooks.
The idea of the scheme that pupils can choose non curriculum subjects that they enjoy as an aid to improving their reading skills.
A presentation evening was held in the Council Chamber on July 2, where cheques were distributed to all schools.
