NATIONAL industrial action is likely to disrupt Vale Council services on Thursday, July 10.
The Vale Council will not know what services are affected until the morning of the strike taken by the NUT, GMB, Unite and Unison trade unions.
Unions have agreed to support a number of key services relied upon by the most vulnerable members of the community and to respond to ‘life and limb’ emergencies.
Many schools across the Vale are likely to close with schools informing parents and pupils of whether or not they will open ahead of the strike action.
Some disruption to black bag and food waste collections may occur.
Collection, in these instances, will not take place until the next scheduled day.
Recycling and bulky item collections scheduled for Thursday, July 10, will be suspended.
On strike day, visit www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk to view affected services.
Contact OneVale will remain in operation although the scope of services normally provided may be curtailed by the strike action.
Staff will in most instances be able to advise residents of what services are in operation.
Residents without access to the internet are advised to call 01446 700111.
