A FRESH call has been made for a new relief road to be installed between Gladstone Road and Dyfan Road.
The former Vale of Glamorgan depot, is earmarked for possible housing development.
But local councillor Richard Bertin said before any housing is built that a relief road should be put in first.
He said: “ We desperately need a new road to link north and south as Hannah Street and the other side streets can no longer cope with the amount of traffic currently using these streets.
“It would be great if the Vale Council could deliver this road for Barry, rather than the traffic continuing to use unsuitable side streets.”
He continued: “ I have now launched a campaign for this road and urge residents to support it.
“Anyone who would like to sign my petition are asked to either call at the Tuck In Cafe on Barry Road or at the newsagents on the corner of Hannah Street.”
