AT the recent supper meeting of Soroptimist International Barry and District, president Audrey Hirst was pleased to welcome Yvonne Scott as a member of the club.
As one of the first people to go through Welsh primary education in Barry it was appropriate that Yvonne should choose teaching as her career. She held various teaching posts within the area and ended her career as acting head of Mounstuart Square School, Cardiff.
Yvonne is Barry born and bred and still lives in the town with her husband, Glyn. Her sponsor, Sian Howell, said she was not only a great friend but also good fun, both attributes Soroptimists excel in.
