POLICE have identified the body of a man found at Jacksons Bay that had previously been reported missing.

The body has now been identified as Stephen Riella, aged 50, who was reported missing last month.

On Friday, October 4, police were called to Jacksons Bay, Barry Island, at around 6.30am following the discovery of the body of a man on the shoreline.

Barry Island Coastguards were called and assisted with the recovery of the body to Barry Yacht Club.

Mr Riella had last been seen on Tuesday, September 17. At midday on Friday September 20, a rucksack belonging to Mr Riella was found at Friar’s Point in Barry.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and the next of kin and HM Coroner have now been informed.
