TOP Welsh comedian Owen Money is set to feature at Chepstow as the racecourse launches a series of comedy nights starting on October 3.

From humble beginnings Owen Money was born in Merthyr Tydfil, and grew up in the South Wales Valleys. He started his career in show business as a bass guitarist and lead singer with the pop group The Bystanders.

In 1987 Owen Money made his debut on Radio Wales. His popularity steadily increased and in 1997 Owen won two Sony Gold Awards, one for regional broadcaster of the year, and the other for best music sequence programme.

The racecourse is hosting a second Comedy evening on November 14 with fellow Welsh comedians Colin Price and Bob Webber.

Phil Bell, executive director at Chepstow Racecourse, said: “We’re always looking for fresh ways to bring in new customers to the racecourse and we pride ourselves on being a flexible venue so the idea of introducing comedy nights just seemed like the perfect fit. We’ve got such a fantastic facility here at Chepstow that we’re hoping these big names in comedy will draw in a large crowd from across Wales.”
