A FREE family fun day is taking place this weekend.

Newport Market, on High Street, is hosting a free 'Spooky Day,' from 11am, on Saturday, October 27.

Pontypridd based company, Roly Poly Entertainments will be hosting a Ghostbusters party, complete with a disco, games, and a spooky trail around the ancient building.

Two local top face painters will also be at the Spooky Day, with one paid for by Newport City Council and the other paid for using money generated through the Market's flea markets, which are open 10am until 3pm, every Wednesday.

The Market will be adorned with the spookiest decorations, including skeletons, crypts, blood prints, and more, to have guests shivering in fear.

Children must be supervised by adults, who are welcome to sit upstairs in the Gallery Space, whilst the kids party.

Fancy dress is encouraged, with good quality masks for the best children's costume, and a cash prize for the best adult's costume.

Newport Market's Chairwoman, Annette Farmer, said: "Don't miss out on this free event.

"We have two of the best face painters coming, one who we had to book six months in advance, and the disco will be really good."
