A VETERAN freelance author is launching his UK tour in Wales later this month.

Michael Gray, author of extensive works on Bob Dylan, including Song & Dance Man: The Art of Bob Dylan (1972) and The Bob Dylan Encyclopedia (2006 and 2008), will be discussing ‘Bob Dylan, Literature & the Poetry of the Blues.'

The talk - which is part of the writer's first tour since winning the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2016 - will include loud music and rare footage, based around the influential superstar who has been an active musician since 1959.

Only one Welsh date is included in the eight dates of the tour. Mr Gray will be at Riverfront Theatre, from 7.45pm, on October 30.

In the past, Mr Gray's talks have been sell-out events; when he spoke at the University of Texas, in Austin, he drew the largest crowd of any external speaker in two years.

The last time he was at Newport Centre was 5 years ago, and his debut at the venue.

Tickets for 'Bob Dylan, Literature & The Poetry Of The Blues: An Evening with Michael Gray', at the Theatre’s studio, are £13.

You can book them by phoning the box office on: 01633 656757, or online at: www.tickets.newportlive.co.uk
