AN ACCLAIMED singer and bassist is returning to her roots, with a solo tour.

Miranda Sykes, from folk band, Show of Hands, will be touring UK venues this month, singing and playing bass and guitar.

The musician has a career spanning more than 20 years, and debuted her solo album Borrowed Places last year.

Borrowed Places draws inspiration from songs and landscapes of Lincolnshire, seen through the eyes of someone who has lived away for many years.

Her tour will also include the opportunity for fans to hear previously unheard tracks from her upcoming album Behind the Wall, which is due to be released in Spring of next year.

Her UK tour features four dates, with it beginning today in Radstock.

There is one Welsh date, which is on Thursday, September 27, at The Norwegian Church, in Cardiff Bay.

The doors will be open from 7pm, with the music starting at 7.30pm. A pay and display car park it outside the venue.

Tickets are £12 and must be purchased in advance, which you can do by phone on: 02920 877959 or online at: www.wegottickets.com/event/439938

The tour also includes a London performance on September 28, and a Southbourne show on September 29.
