BIG Pit National Coal Museum will be holding a variety of family events this summer.

The museum in Blaenavon will be hosting the Be a Big Pit Explorer Day series from Saturday, May 26 to Sunday, June 3.

The event will encourage people to pick up a trail and spot the objects around the museum.

If you spot them all you can get a prize.

It starts from 12 noon to 4pm

There is no charge to attend the event.

Then Father’s Day Feastival will be held on Sunday, June 17.

Join the Torfaen museum for a Father’s Day treat, with local food and drink stalls, free family entertainment and the world famous underground tour, plus a free cuppa and Welsh cake for dad.

You can also jump on board the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway where fathers can ride for free.

A free brewery tour at Rhymney Brewery, at the Gilchrist Thomas Industrial Estate in Blaenavon, and a well-deserved free half of ale for dads will be available too.

Visit all three attractions to be entered into a prize draw for a food and drink hamper.

The events are run in partnership with Torfaen County Borough Council.
