SOUTH Wales Central AM and Vale-resident, Andrew RT Davies, has visited the Major Music Project in Llantwit Major to see the work they do with young people in the Vale.
Mr Davies was treated to a tour of the studio by Lynise Esprit who is the resident technician, and he was treated to a sneak preview of a CD of original songs by local Vale musicians.
Mr Davies said: “It was great to have the chance to meet the team at Major Music and to witness first-hand the top notch facilities that they have for local youngsters.
“This is an excellent project and Lynise and his colleagues clearly have a real passion for music and for bringing the best out of the people around them.
“Music is an ideal social outlet for young people and the impact that these sessions have on the self-esteem and confidence of those involved cannot be underestimated. Perhaps most importantly of all though, is the possibility that they might unearth the next Stereophonics or Tom Jones in those studios! That would be something special for the Vale.”
Lynise Esprit said: “It was great to have Andrew Davies visit us at Major Music. Andrew was keen to see how small charities can make a difference to the community through the use of music.
“We are keen to expand this project in the future and we look forward to the on-going support of Andrew Davies.”
