WALES defender Neil Taylor has been handed a two-match ban by FIFA following his red card against the Republic of Ireland last month.
Taylor was sent off for a wreckless challenge that left Irish captain Seamus Coleman with a broken leg in the 2018 World Cup qaualifier at Dublin's Aviva Stadium.
And, following a meeting of FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee, the Football Association of Wales have confirmed Taylor's suspension.
The Aston Villa defender was found to have breached article 48 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, which states that a players should serve at least a two-match ban for "serious foul play (particularly in the case of excessive or brute force)."
Taylor will now be suspended for Wales' next two qualifiers, in Serbia on June 11 and at home to Austria September 2.
