BARRY Community Tennis Club is living up to its title of Tennis Wales' Community Venue of the Year by taking tennis to the people of Barry.
On Bank Holiday Monday, the club took tennis games and other simple activities such as skipping and Chinese ropes, to Barry Island promenade where passers-by were able to join in and savour the club's ethos of making tennis accessible to everyone.
The club will be offering similar activities, with a mini tennis net, bats & balls, and other fun games every Friday from 4pm outside the beach huts at the Eastern end of the promenade.
Anyone is welcome to join in the fun.
Further community activities are planned for the summer, including a teddy bear's picnic at Porthkerry Park on 10th June and live screening of the Wimbledon Men's Singles Final at Barry Yacht Club on 15th July.
To find out more about the club's activities, check their Facebook or Twitter pages, or take a look at their noticeboard adjacent to the tennis courts in Romilly Park.
