BARRY Town United Ladies U13s sealed a valuable point away to Llantwit Fadre last weekend, as they stayed in contention at the top of the South Wales Women and Girls League.

Barry Ladies started brightly in the top of the table clash and quickly went ahead through Seren Bailey after just four minutes.

Ruby Hamed-Jones linked up with Manon Pearce to put Bailey through on goal, and she dispatched neatly into the bottom right hand corner to give Barry an early lead.

Llantwit Fadre quickly improved and the game became an evenly balanced affair, with Barry maintaining their lead into half-time.

But Llantwit Fadre looked set to level the tie midway through the second period after one of their players was brought down in the box, only for Barry 'keeper Riley Stanger to pull off an outstanding save from the resultant spot-kick to keep her side in front.

With half chances being created at both ends, it was eventually Llantwit Fadre who capitalised, equalising with just five minutes.

Despite a frantic finish the scores remained level, earning Barry a valuable point to keep them in the frame for a potential league title come the end of the season.
