BARRY Yacht Club will be hosting a presentation evening next month, encouraging new members to take up sea rowing for the first time.
Following the refurbishment of their third sea rowing boat and the arrival in April of a further boat on loan, Barry Yacht Club sea rowing section have a number of vacancies for new members both male and female.
No rowing experience experience is required, and new members will be taught how to row and cox a Celtic long boat.
The presentation will be hosted by the rowing captain and existing members at Barry Yacht Club (next to Jackson’s Bay) on Friday, March 9 at 7.30pm.
The club offers both social and competitive rowing across the south and west of Wales, including league events which can attract as many as 50 boats.
Subject to weather, a trial row will take place for new members on either Saturday 10 or Sunday 11 March.
