BARRY IIs secured an important win to end Rumney II's unbeaten league record this term, as they returned to action after a long absence with a 24-5 victory.
Barry had seen a number of fixtures cancelled in recent weeks, but took no time to return to their best despite being unable to name a full squad ahead of the game.
On a clear wintry afternoon, Barry took the game to their hosts and promptly came away with a bonus point victory.
Coaches Rhidian Scott and Glyn Pirso were forced to shuffle the pack with numerous players injured or unavailable, and they handed a long awaited return for Danny Williams in the second row while Luke Hewitson returned as full-back. Nick Rolfe made his first appearance of the season among the replacements.
In a demonstration of the spirit and character of the Barry squad, the visitors ran in four tries with fly-half Dylan Robertson dictating proceedings bagging a brace and two conversions.
Harry Moyle and John Miles also crossed for the green-and-whites as Rumney suffered their first defeat of the season.
Barry II return to action on March 3 at home to St. Peters.
