SCHOOL sport competitions begin thick and fast at the start of term and the new Year 7 pupils at Barry Comprehensive School led the way with cross country.
All boys from Year 7 competed in the inter-house competition, where they gain points for their house. The race was exciting to the very finish with Panayoty securing third place, Tom taking second and Drew triumphing with the fastest time in the whole year group.
Year's 8 and 9 and the senior athletes will all be competing in the coming weeks.
The top finishers from all the inter-house competitions will form the representative teams lining up for the first cross country fixtures of the new season at Trelai Park.
