SULLY Centurions Cricket Club brought down the curtain on the 2016 season with a friendly match against a touring side from Bicester in Oxfordshire, on Saturday.

Centurions batted first and brothers Ali and Awais Chaudhary both hit half centuries as the runs started to pile up.

Aron Arthur just missed out on a 50, being not out for 46 at the end.

However, all of the batsmen chipped in with runs and Sully ended up on 232 for 5 after the allotted 35 overs.

After tea, which was provided by Morrison’s of Barry, the visitors sent out their finest and were soon in trouble.

Tarv Dhanjal and Terry Williams had the first three batsmen back in the pavilion for just 12 runs. They didn’t recover from this disastrous start and wickets began falling regularly.

Terry Williams was the pick of the Centurions’ bowlers, posting figures of 3 for 11.

Tarv (2-19) Aron (2-1) and Jason Hicks (2-10) all returned decent figures, as the innings came to a close on 76 all out. Sully’s Patrick Lane guested for Bicester and ended up as their top scorer on 20 not out.

Once again many thanks to Morrison’s of Barry for providing the tea, which was enjoyed by all.
