ANOTHER weekend of action in the Vale of Glamorgan Football League saw Vale United remain the only Premier Division team with a 100 per cent record as they defeated last seasons runners-up St Athan 4 - 2.

Cowbridge Town bounced back from an opening day defeat with a 4 - 1 win over Masons Moving Group. Barry Athletic signalled their intent with 4 - 2 home win over Dinas Powys Athletic.

Penarth Town got their season up and running with an impressive 3 - 1 victory over Rhoose and Island Marine and Tynewydd played out a rare 0 - 0 draw.

In the First Division it was goals aplenty between Barry Athletic B and Cadoxton Athletic as the former won an incredible 9 - 4 in their first fixture following promotion. Barry Belgrade made it two out of two with a 6 - 2 romp against Cadoxton Barry, while Cardiff Airport also ran in six in a 6 - 1 win against Glenbrook. SP Billy continued their good start as they edged out FC Pumas 3 - 2.

Meanwhile in Division Two, Barry Saints and Cadoxton Imps continue to be the pace setters as both made it three out of three. Cadoxton Imps winning 5 - 1 against FC Pumas B while Barry Saints brought BVFC's good start to the season to a screeching halt dismantling them 8 - 1.

Barry Albion bounced back from a mid-week defeat to be victorious over Penarth Town B 4 - 2. While St Athan B are still looking for their first points after a 3 - 0 home defeat to Island Marine B.

Next week sees a Second Division mid-week schedule on Wednesday with BVFC versus Cadoxton Imps standing out.

Next weekend sees another round of league action, with Tynewydd hosting Vale United in a Premier Division game and St Athan playing Cowbridge Town in another West Vale derby.

In the First Division the stand out game has to be Barry Belgrade versus SP Billy and in the Second Division Barry Albion versus Barry Saints could well be game of the day.
