ON A wet and windy day at Brynhill golf club, Gemma Evans and Sam Pascoe met again to compete for the title to be Ladies' Champion.
The match play competition over 36 holes was followed by many members, including club president Keith Atkins and his wife Brenda. The match referee was again Jan Robertson who, although wet, said she thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Together with their caddies, Ann Phillips for Sam and Helene Cook for Gemma the ladies played an entertaining and competitive game.
Gemma, was seven up after 18 holes and everybody retired to the club for lunch, giving time to dry off and discuss the morning's golf.
The afternoon's weather did not improve but, Gemma and Sam battled on with Gemma retaining the title of Brynhill Ladies' Champion.
The afternoon's competition also included the final of the Diack Cup, between Jo Hopkins and Liz Taylor.
Together with their caddies, Jenny Pateman for Jo and Lynda Lloyd for Liz, they also had to battle the weather. Referee again this year was Audrey Phillips, who, as one of the oldest members of the ladies' section used her experience to ensure an enjoyable and well played match, with Liz Taylor winning the cup.
A great day of golf, camaraderie and rain, finished with a dinner and presentation at the golf club.
