A NEW tae kwon do club has opened in Barry which will be led by chief instructor Jamie Halford 4th degree black belt with instructors Bradley Halford 3rd degree, Matthew Bennett and Keita Enfield 2nd degree.

Rising Dragons Tae Kwon Do open on Wednesday, July 20, and will take place at Victoria Park Community Centre, behind Cadoxton Primary School.

To get the club up and running Joanne and Paul Halford and Meloney Bennett secured the new licences, insurance and suits; Lee Cunningham of LNC Flooring sponsored club suits; Stuart James of Studio 14 designed a new club logo; Rob and Anthea King proved a generous donation and all the parents and children who are now ready to get involved.

All the instructors are grateful to everyone who has helped and IBF featherweight champion Lee Selby who officially opened the club.

The instructors have a combined amount of 50 years experience, with multiple World, European and British Championships in the disciplines of tae kwon do.

The students range from the age of four-years-old to the older generation with a variety of grades from beginner to advanced, using tae kwon do not only for guidance through life, working through a syllabus supported by 7th degree Dutch master Jaap Teeuwissen but also as a great form of modern fitness.

Classes will be held on Monday from 6-7pm for beginners and 7-9pm for advanced; Wednesday's from 5-7pm for beginners and 7-9pm for advanced and on Sunday's from 10am to noon for all.
