THIS week Sully Bowling Club had only one fixture, having agreed with Dinas Powys that the Welsh Football semi-final match took priority and warranted a rearranged match.

On Saturday the team travelled to Pontypridd to play a CML match.

On arriving Sully were surprised to find that it had rained all morning in Pontypridd but the green took the weather well. In what was a very even fought match at five ends Sully were 14 shots down.

At 10 ends they were only 10 down. With the game going back and forth it finished with only one rink up and losing by 15.

Considering the start this was a good change for Sully who of late have tended to fade off badly in the latter stages.

A Thomas, A Rees, D Edwards, D Curtis 12 - 20

A Smith, D Curtain, M Hardy, B Griffiths 26 - 18

S Norris, E Pryer, H L Jones, D Hotchkiss 24 - 18

B Curtis, T Murphy, J Best, C Best 22 - 13

Final score: 84 - 69

This week normal service resumes with matches on Wednesday and Saturday, Sully are at home at the Jubilee Hall at 2.30pm.
