A SULLY bowler represented Wales at the Welsh Women’s Bowls Association and helped the team to secure gold and silver medals in a number of events.

Yvonne Lloyd plays for Sully Sports Bowls Club and was honoured to be selected to play and be part of the team's success.

The International Series and British Isles Championships for the Welsh Women’s Bowls Association was held from June 17-21 at Sighthill Bowls Club in Edinburgh.

Wales won gold medals in the singles, pairs and over-55s and silver in the rinks, an outstanding achievement.

The international series and Eve trophy was won by Scotland with runners-up silver plate being awarded to Wales.

Yvonne was able to compete in the championships thanks to the generosity of Sully Sports and Leisure Club who sponsored her for the trip to Scotland.

Talking about the club Yvonne said: "I am exceptionally lucky to have a club that is committed to helping its members at this level of sport and it was very gratefully received".

The international series is to be held in Llandrindod Wells in 2017 and is a feast of excellent and skilful bowling.
