ANDREW Selby looks to write his name into the record books on Saturday when he faces Louis Norman for the vacant British flyweight title at the Ice Arena Wales in Cardiff.

Should the 27-year-old Barry star win the clash then he would be the fastest Welsh boxer to a British crown in terms of bouts fought and time as a professional.

Selby goes for the Lonsdale Belt in only his fifth outing in the paid ranks – his first was less than seven months ago at the end of October 2015.

His opponent, five years Selby’s junior, has only lost one of his 13 contests and is going to be out to spoil the party in the Welsh capital.

Many, including boxing legend Barry McGuigan, are tipping Selby, who won almost everything as an amateur, for the top.

And McGuigan even reckons Selby could be fighting for a world title by this time next year.
