THIS week in the Vale of Glamorgan Football League, Cogan Coronation were crowned Vale of Glamorgan Association Football League Division One champions with a 4-0 win over Cadoxton Barry.

Despite South Wales Football Association rules stopping them being promoted to the Premier Division (due to their first team being in the Alliance League), their championship win is a brilliant achievement in a tough division.

FC Pumas dispatched Cogan's nearest challengers Sully 5-2 and Tynewydd won 8-0 over BV to leap frog Sully into second. Vale United kept up their promotion push defeating Cadoxton Athletic 2-0 to stay fourth and a point behind second place.

Cardiff Airport B won their final game of the season 7-2 against Glenbrook to seal an impressive fifth place finish while Barry Belgrade were held 4-4 by second bottom AFC Rhoose.

Up in the Premier Division, Dinas Powys Athletic warmed up for the ASRS Cup final next Sunday by winning their last game of the season 4-3 over SP Construction to finish an excellent fifth. Their cup final opponents Penarth Town held Cowbridge Town 2-2 to guarantee they finish outside the bottom two.

In Division Two, Dockers Reunited's title celebrations were put on hold as they were held 2-2 against St Athan B while Barry Athletic B beat third place Cadoxton Imps 2-1 to keep the title race alive. Dockers will look to clinch the league on Wednesday against Island Marine. In the third game, bottom side Barry Albion held Penarth Town B 2-2.

Finally, commiserations to double winners Cardiff Airport as they were denied a treble by Trebanog who defeated the Vale champions 3-0 to win their own treble. Nonetheless a tremendous season by Airport with the play offs to the Alliance League to come.

Next weekend the big game is on Sunday at Jenner Park as Dinas Powys Athletic play Penarth Town in the final of the historic ASRS Cup, with a 2.15pm kick-off.
