THIS week in the Vale of Glamorgan Football League, Cardiff Airport won the Barry Cup 3-2 against Wenvoe Arms in a thrilling final.

Skipper Liam Davies bagged a brace to put Airport 2-0 up before Wenvoe's Jacob Santos scored twice to pull them level. Mikey Hall then bagged the winner as Airport celebrated a league and cup double. Airport's Theo Richards was named man of the match.

Airport had sealed their second successive Vale of Glamorgan Premier Division title last Thursday winning 6-1 against Dinas Powys Athletic. Airport now face a play off for promotion to the SWFA Alliance League.

On the weekend St Athan sealed the runners-up spot with a 6-0 victory over Island Marine while Dinas Powys Athletic bounced back from the midweek defeat with an impressive 4-3 away win against Cowbridge Town. Penarth Town stunned Barry Athletic with an excellent 5-2 to take them out of the bottom two.

In Division One, Cardiff Airport B held leaders Cogan Coronation 1-1 but it seems only a matter of time before Cogan seal the title.

Vale United notched an important win against promotion rivals Tynewydd edging them out 1-0 to swap places and go third. Barry Belgrade got back to winning ways with only their second win in 10 in all completions with an emphatic 8-2 victory over BVFC.

AFC Rhoose B got an impressive 3-2 win over FC Pumas and Cadoxton Athletic won the Caddy Derby 4-2 against Cadoxton Barry as they made it four games without defeat to go fifth.

In Division Two, Dockers Reunited won the big game of the day 4-1 against title rivals Barry Athletic B to leap frog them to top of the league with two games in hand. Dockers looking like firm favourites for the title now.

Fourth place Knap notched a 4-0 win over fifth place Penarth B while St Athan B were held 3-3 by Island Marine B. Finally bottom side Barry Albion were defeated 6-3 by third place Cadoxton Imps.

This week the big game is Cardiff Airport looking for a historical treble, they play Trebanog FC in the final of the SWFA Intermediate Cup on Wednesday, May 4, to be played at Treforest FC kick-off 7.30pm.

Elsewhere Tynewydd play Barry Belgrade in an interesting midweek fixture.
