SULLY Cricket Club's 1st team posted its highest ever 40 over total hitting 346 for five against Cynon Valley who were in turn bowled out for 143 leaving the Spartans winners by 203 runs.
Skipper C Howe opened the batting with Krishna after being asked to bat by the away side, a decision which was a surprise to all with such a well prepared even bounced track.
The first wicket partnership totalled 147 before Krishna was out for an excellent 52.
Howe was then joined by Kieran who took an instant liking to the bowling attack taking the score to 242 before Howe was next to go for an excellent 91.
Kieran continued the onslaught smashing the bowling to all corners of the ground ending up on 88 not out and the Spartans with the huge total of 346.
In response Cynon Valley went for it from the start but on this occasion paid the price with opening bowlers Morgan nine overs two maidens five for 28 and Haaris nine overs four for 59 putting pay to any thoughts of a run chase, despite a valiant last wicket stand of 50 taking the score to 143.
