SATURDAY, July 4, saw 24 men's and women's teams from around the region compete in the first Cardiff Blues Beach Rugby tournament.

With teams fielding players like Tom Shanklin and Rhys Williams, Sea View RFC, did well to reach the semi-finals of the Bowl competition.

Losing to the Bowl winners and local rivals Barry. The tournament was a great event, a magnificent setting, superbly organised by The Blues and Beach Rugby Wales, hopefully it will become an annual competition.

It was also an opportunity to showcase this season's new kit, sponsored by Refrigeration Cymru, iTech Repair and Zone Cellular Barry, the profit from sales of supporters shirts are going to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

They’d also like to take this opportunity to welcome aboard their latest sponsor JES Maintenance Solutions, for all aspects of home improvement these are the guys to go to. Thanks for the support.

On July 19, Sea View will compete in the Cardiff and District 7’s Competition to be held at St Peter’s RFC.

The View are back on the beach this Thursday for more pre-season training, as always, they are on the look-out for new players, whether you are experienced or have never played and you fancy trying the sport come on down. Next session is Thursday at 6.30pm on the sand at Whitmore Bay.
