CONTINUING on from the success of ICO Welsh Open the Cadoxton Schools of Tae Kwon Do attended the World Organisation of Martial Arts Athletes (WOMAA) Welsh Open held in Western Leisure Centre, Cardiff.

First up were the beginner’s patterns where they had Charlie Rogers and Leland Butler competing, Charlie took first place with Leland third. Next was the intermediate section with Cameron Evans taking first and Ethan Andrus in second place.

They had a clean sweep in the advanced patterns with Cian Allen in first, Cody Jacobsen in second and Jessie Blackley in third place.

Next were the boys Intermediate Weapon Cameron Evans taking first and Ethan Andrus in second place, yet again a clean sweep in the Advanced Weapons with Cody Jacobsen in first, Jake Quigley in second and Joel Wells in third.

Once the patterns were over the Point Sparring categories got underway, Leland Butler coming away with first place in the mixed boys and girls under-7 beginners.

Thea Cunningham took third place in the under-7 year olds mixed advanced while Cameron Evans took first place in the boys intermediate 8 to 9-year-olds.

Jessie Blackley took first place in the girls 8 to 9 years advanced and Lucia Cunningham taking second in the girls 10 to 11 advanced.

In the boys 8 to 9 advanced Cody Jacobsen came away with third place, meanwhile in the boys advanced 10 to 11 year olds Cian Allen was took first place.

Next and the last of the day were the Continuous Sparring categories. Thea Cunningham taking third place in the mixed boys and girls under-7 years advanced. Leland Butler came away with a credible third place in the mixed boys and girls under-7 year’s beginners.

In the boys advanced 8 to 9 year old Joel Wells took second with Cody Jacobsen taking third place.

Girls advanced 10 to 11 year olds saw Lucia Cunningham taking second while in the girls advanced 8 to 9 year olds Jessica Blackley took first place. Cian Allen competing in the boys advanced 10 to 11 year olds came away with a hard fought third place. Star of the competition was Cameron Evans taking his fourth first place of the day in the boys intermediate 8 to 9 year olds.
