BRYNHILL Golf Club held their AGM in the clubhouse on March 25. The members welcomed in their new club captain Rhys Jones and vice captain Matthew Thomas.

There was a poignant moment when Mr Peter Hayman announced that he would be retiring as Brynhill's president. Peter had been the president for Brynhill for 10 years, and had been a very dedicated supporter of all of Brynhill's teams and also the Ladies' section.

Peter was the club captain in 1984, when he was instrumental in securing the services of Mr Bob Hope to open the new clubhouse. His wisdom and support over the last 10 years to the club captain’s and members has been second to none.

Peter expressed his congratulations to Mr Keith Atkinson, the new elected president and wished him every success in his term of office. Keith is a long standing member of the club and is a past club captain and past club secretary, so he knows all the ropes.

Mr Atkinson expressed his delight and honour of his election to club president. All the members joined with the captain to thank Peter for his service to the club and awarded him an honorary membership of Brynhill Golf Club.

The meeting was brought to a close in the traditional manner, with the captain Rhys Jones inviting everyone in the clubhouse to join him for a drink.

The Old Record Club was in the clubhouse on April 5. A great night was had by all who attended and members and their guests reminisced over the golden oldies.
