Vale of Glamorgan League Division One

Cadoxton Barry 2nds 1 Cogan Coronation 2nds 0

Scorer: Fiddler

CB took a first half lead when a Rhydian Hopkins corner was flicked on into the top corner of the net by Gareth Fiddler. The early stages of the second half saw CB deploying long ball tactics with balls aimed at Oaten and Rhys Hopkins whose runs on goal spelt danger for Cogan every time they got the ball - one of the occasions seeing Rhys whacking the bar with a shot.

But then an equaliser looked on the cards as Cogan beat the offside trap for a forward to find himself faced with an open goal only to produce a miss of cataclysmic proportions when it would have been easier to score.

Cogan were becoming more and more physical as time wound down but back came CB for Rhys to find Sheppard whose shot hit the side netting. CB went close from a couple of corners before Cogan broke to earn a free kick which was only marginally wide.

An excellent win for the 2nds against a side vying for the third spot in the table.

Masons are Moving 5 Cadoxton Barry 3rds 4

Scorers: Smart 3, Thompson (CB)

It was disappointing that communication failures led to CB playing the whole of the game with just 10 men. However, they gave a good account of themselves as the 10 guys gave their all to lose out only in the penultimate minute.

Smart pulled a goal back after CB had gone one down in the 15th minute before a flurry of goals saw Masons leading 4 - 1.

But the 10 men weren't done yet as Davies fed the ball forward to find Smart to lob one of the tallest 'keepers in the league from near the half way line.

Then Cameron picked up the play on the right. He made a penetrating run into the box before back heeling to the edge of the box where Smart was on hand to curl the ball home. The 10 men levelled things up at 4 - 4 when Thompson headed the rebound home after the previous shot had hit the bar.

For a while it looked like CB might come away with a point, but Masons forced a winner with just two minutes left.
