A PAIR of first half strikes from forwards James Dixon and TJ Nagi helped Welsh League Division Two pacesetters Barry Town United overturn a goal deficit at Penrhiwceiber Rangers on Saturday afternoon.

Rangers, who started the day in 12th position, had raced into a 15th minute lead; lobbing Town goalkeeper Dan Bradley and denying him a 95th career clean sheet for the club.

However, Gavin Chesterfield's men soon fired back with two goals in the space of six minutes to seize a slender half-time advantage, at a cold and blustery Glasbrook Field.

After Dixon had fired into the far corner in the 25th minute, Nagi's 31st-minute effort took a deflection to wrong foot the Penrhiwceiber goalkeeper and put unbeaten Barry ahead.

Contested amidst sleet and snow, the second half was similarly competitive but ultimately failed to produce any further score; and so, the table-topping Town moved up to 57 points, with nine games still to play.

This Saturday, Barry Town travels continue as they tackle former Division One outfit Cwmbran Celtic at 2pm, who are also set to visit Jenner Park in March.

Meanwhile, the club have confirmed that former Manchester United and Newcastle United star Keith Gillespie will be their special guest speaker at the annual awards gala on Saturday, May 23.
