WELL done to Sully Sports, after digging deep and slugging it out with Cardiff Saracens. Thanks go to all who travelled the short distance to watch the boys play this weekend.

From the kick off both sides showed their intent to win this game, throwing the ball around and taking their chances.

Unfortunately Sully's discipline let them down and the referee was soon to punish them, allowing Saracens to get on the score board first.

The keenness of the whistle followed much of the game. But strong runs from Alex Szuchnik and Jon Blake ensured Sully soon got on the board. Much continued in the first half with the new backs line up linking well with the forwards and Peter Brown and Dean Russell storming forward kept the score board ticking over. But the boot of Saracens 13 kept them in the chase.

The coaches’ call for patience and playing a Sully game at half time soon saw them rewarded with further scores in the second half. However, Saracens weren't going to lie down and kept the attack coming and were rewarded by points.

Skipper Jon Blake led the way forward like a skittle ball knocking down the skittles with ease.

Jake Williams and Dai Harris kept the backs on the front foot, and again some good interlinking saw Sully keep the lead. Not to be out done Saracens came back fighting and right up to the final whistle gave Sully a run for their money.

This was a game that showed true grit and determination from all players and everyone stepped up to the mark and ensured Sully won the game. Next week see Ynysowen visit, kick off at 2.30pm, come along and support the boys and club.
