ON Sunday, January 11, Barry RFC was to play their first 2015 fixture at home against Llandaff North under 11s.

The wind was extremely powerful but that didn't stop the team, within a minute of the whistle going Barry kicked into the half and Phillips scored the first try.

Barry used every hand and the field to play the ball out wide to there never stopping back Bannister, who powered through gaining Barry ground and scored their second try.

Williams and Norman took the ball into the Llandaff North pack but this didn't stop Llandaff from putting up their share in the game.

The wall was passed out to the wings full back Baron who scooped up the ball and ran through Llandaff scoring yet another try. The scrums were played with Barry's heart.

In the second half of the game every member of the team was used to help Barry score many more tries. Each player supported each other and this seems to be a turning point for Barry under 11s.

There were positive comments from parents and side line spectators.

Barry's coaches couldn't choose a man of the match as it was a team effort by them all. Coaches Gavyn Elsworth, Simon cox and Rachel Baron (coach/team manager) were so pleased with their effort and courage they did there club and themselves proud.

Final score was Barry 50, Llandaff North 10.
