A BARRY-BASED young darts referee is looking forward to some Comic Relief when he calls the shots on the national televised charity broadcast marathon.

21-year-old Huw Ware will call the shots for the camera when Lets Play Darts for Comic Relief airs on the BBC on Friday, March 13.

Cardiff University student Huw Ware once again stepped up to referee a top match at the British Darts Organisation (BDO) Lakeside World Championships last week.

The English language student is one of the youngest world championship referees in the world and his fourth time at the Lakeside Country Club was televised by the BBC and BT Sport.

He also refereed several matches and worked behind the scenes as one of this year’s spotters – prompting the cameras where the next dart will land.

This is the second time Huw has undertaken this role.

Huw, a keen darts player himself, will appear at the O2 Arena in two weeks time taking part in a show night in aid of the Heart of Darts Charity.

He will then take part in the BDO World Darts Trophy in Manchester between from February 26 to March 1.
