ON Friday, December 19, the Cadoxton Schools of Taekwon-Do celebrated an extremely successful year with its annual awards presentation and disco at Market Street club. The night was a great success with parents and students alike all enjoying themselves.

The first award of the night was best beginner and it went to Charlie Rogers. Charlie is definitely one for the future.

The most potential trophy was awarded to Cameron Evans. Cameron was also the recipient of the clubs best of grading at the last grading of 2014.

Most improved male award went to Ethan Andros who has worked hard at his basic techniques showing that he has a good future within the martial art of Taekwon-Do. Having come top of the 2014 Cadoxton Taekwon-Do tournament rankings, Cody Jacobsen received a well deserved competitor of the year award.

Joel Wells was the recipient of the perseverance trophy, over the past year he has showed remarkable perseverance not only on the tournament scene but also in weekly training.

Lucia Cunningham received the achievement award for her outstanding achievement in the grand prix series of tournaments taking the grand champion in all four categories she had entered.

Two special awards are given out in memory of Charles Ames and Michael Conibear. The very popular and assistant instructor Matthew Bennett was the recipient of the Michael Conibear (star student award) which was donated to the club by Michael’s mother. While Jake Quigley received the Charles Ames memorial shield for his dedication to his TKD training from Charlie's partner Alyson Thomas.

For her all round improvement, ability and hard work over the past 12 months the student of 2014 went to Jessica Blackley.
